Science of Meditation Mission

To bring together a global audience to experience wisdom and cultivate the skill of well-being. We intend to accomplish this mission by offering free teachings from both modern science and the Buddhist tradition about the time-tested practice of meditation. Through this summit we hope to provide information and inspiration to all those who wish to create a society based on compassion and wisdom.

About Shambhala Mountain Center

For over forty years, Shambhala Mountain Center has served as a place for people to come together to experience wisdom from many of the world’s most respected teachers. We are a 501c3 non-profit educational organization and meditation retreat center located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado that was founded by the Tibetan meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

In October of 2014, the aspiration to expand our services beyond our mountain retreat center came to fruition in our first online summit: Awake in the World. The Science of Meditation will be our fourth.  Shambhala Mountain Center has been featured as a retreat destination by National Geographic Traveler, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Travel and Leisure, NBC News, Men’s Journal and others.
